NIDC:

Organized in 1999, the NIDC strives to provide in the 15 counties
in NW Illinois:

diabetes education to the public
-
diabetes care information materials
-
information about the level of care provided and how people
with diabetes provide care for themselves
-
community-based programs that address the impact of diabetes
and diabetes complications
-
An example is the Beyer Elementary School Project: we
are developing a project to decrease obesity in children
and to decrease the risk of diabetes these children face
later in life. NIDC will use the best parts from this
project in other schools in our region.

NIDC is your local not-for-profit organization.
- Membership
is free and open to any person with an interest or concern about
diabetes: Join NIDC
- NIDC
is a registered State of Illinois Not-for-Profit and a federally
designated 501c3 organization.
- All
of your donations stay in Northern Illinois
- Administrative
costs are kept at a minimal level
